As of October 2017, West Virginia had 10 communities or counties participating in the FEMA CRS program, which allows communities to earn discounts for their NFIP¬†flood insurance policy premiums by going above and beyond the minimum measures for flood protection required by the NFIP. Communities get points for activities and measures and are scored into a “class” (the¬†highest class being 1 and the lowest class being a 10). The higher the class, the bigger the discount, which can reach up to 45 percent!

Congratulations to these communities for their hard work!
